Silverwood & Spookytree -- On a Snowy Eve

Silverwood and Spookytree are two duos who joined forces to create a beautiful winter theme CD.  Silverwood features Verlene Schermer on vocals, Celtic harp and cross-strung harp, and Linnette Bommarito on vocal harmonies, flute and alto flute. Spookytree is the duo formerly known as Knodel & Valencia, and features Debra Knodel on Celtic harp, vocals, and percussion, and Jane Valencia on Celtic harps (both nylon and wire), vocals, oboe, and English horn.   For this joint project, Verlene and Linnette join Spookytree for a few tunes, adding guitar, fiddle, flute, and vocals, and Jane and Deb join Silverwood on a few tunes, providing additional vocal harmonies.

Silverwood

Silverwood is a duo featuring Verlene Schermer on vocals, harp, and guitar, and Linnette Bommarito on vocal harmonies, flute and alto flute. Silverwood's first recording of all instrumental music, Now & Then, was officially released at a celebration on September 12, 1997.  The album covers music that spans several hundred years. In addition to nylon harp and guitar, Verlene also plays wire harp, cross strung chromatic harp, violin, vielle, and percussion on the album. In addition to flute and alto flute, Linnette also plays soprano recorder and percussion. Five of the pieces are original compositions by Verlene and Linnette.  A book of all the music on the album is also available.

An 86 page companion music book is also available. The book includes the Silverwood arrangements of the pieces on the album for flute and guitar, and for flute and harp. The harp arrangements can also be performed on piano, and the flute parts can be played on any melody instrument.
