Silverwood began when Verlene and her sister Linnette

were asked to play for a friend's wedding.

Ever since that first wedding, they have been playing together

as a duo for weddings, brunches, luncheons, dinner parties,

    concerts, and other events.

Verlene and Linnette enjoy the special rapport unique to siblings that comes from having grown up together.

Verlene explains, "When we're working out arrangements, I'll have an idea and start to play a few notes and

then Linnette picks up her flute and continues the phrase as if she's read my mind."

Silverwood has released their first album of instrumental music, featuring flute, harp, and guitar. Also available

is an 86 page book of the pieces from the album, including both both harp and guitar arrangements of the

accompaniments for most of the pieces. Silverwood has also recorded a winter theme album with another

duo, Spookytree, called One Snowy Eve.

Silverwood is available for private bookings in and around the San Francisco Bay Area. A promotional

package including demo CD and song list is available upon request.

Linnette joined Verlene on a recent Northwest tour, and played flute and sang harmony on Verlene's original songs as

well as some popular standards such as What a Wonderful World, and Take 5. They also performed several Silverwood

pieces from both Silverwood recordings. One fan told Linnette "Your harmonies were exquisite! I closed my eyes and

it was as if one voice sang both parts!"
