There is a blue that is deeper than the sea
An ancient inner ache that shakes the heart of me
There is a blue that is darker than the sky
That pulses in the night through every part of me
And I touch the formless void and watch the shaping of a world
As I bring some clarity to the confusion
And I see what I have made and say, “it is good, it is good”
Dark and deep, sky and sea, blue on blue
There is a blue that is bigger than the sea
Surrounds and covers me with womb rememberings
There is a blue that is brighter than the sky
It crowns and fills my mind with new rememberings
And I touch the formless void and watch the shaping of a world
As I bring some clarity to the confusion
And I see what I have made and say, “it is good, it is good”
Big and bright, sea and sky, blue on blue
There is a blue that is lonely like the sea
It closes in on me and my fragilities
There is a blue that is endless like the sky
Expanding in my mind with possibilities
And I touch the formless void and watch the shaping of a world
As I bring some clarity to the confusion
And I see what I have made and say, “it is good, it is good”
Day and night, dark and light, blue on blue

Winslow was a writer, but not like you and me
We write down what has happened, he’d write down what will be
And when he finally realized how far his power was reachin’
He taught himself a lesson no one else could teach him
He started writing ballads when he was yet unwise
He wrote a song of grieving and then his dog met his demise
He wrote himself a love song and he met his precious lover
But when he wrote of heartache she left him for another
One day he decided to make his power pay
He sat down to write a song in a premeditated way
He wrote about a singer who dreamed of fame and glory
He wrote with special care his fate lay in this story
The song would be successful – he knew he’d be a star
A song about his rising to the top of every chart
When he tried to write the last verse, it always left him crying
The only way the song could end was with him dying
He started on the song when he was only twenty-one
Now he has a wife a teenage daughter and a son
And late nights in the study one can faintly hear him crying
The song was never finished – he’ll be forever trying

You’ve got a lot to tell me, I’ve got a lot to learn
You’ve got a way of telling that makes my spirit burn
In a world that parallels my own, I am not so alone
I am finding my way home
That’s the way LeGuin, go all the way LeGuin
Tell me a story in printed imagery
And I’ll tell you what it means, to me, LeGuin
I’ll tell you what it means to me
You’ve got a lot to show me, I’ve got a lot to see
You tell it like you know me, it’s such a mystery
In your world the perils are real, in a way I can feel
In a way I can’t conceal
(Chorus)
You’ve got another story, tonight will be sublime
I’ll tell you in the morning, if you got me one more time
In my world a pair of old blue jeans, is all the glamour that I need
When your words are touching me
(Chorus)
