The first time I saw him in dreamtime
He was twenty feet tall and eighty feet wide
And I couldn't get past where he stood hard and fast
And I knew he would not step aside
So I waved to attract his attention
But he wouldn't look where I stood down below
"You're excused, you're dismissed," with a flick of his wrist
But I couldn't step back -- there was nowhere to go
I couldn't, there was nowhere to go

That was the first time I saw him in dreamtime
He wasn't there for his own hopeless sake
I did what I could, but it did me no good
So I curled up and cried myself awake

The next time I saw him in dreamtime
We stood face to face and we walked side by side
And I thought we were equal, that we could agree
But I still couldn't see through his eyes
So I smiled to attract his attention
Appealed to his reason, his sense of what's fair
Then I stopped in my track -- would he even look back?
He continued as if I had never been there
As if I had never been there

That was the next time I saw him in dreamtime
He wasn't there for his own hopeless sake
I did what I could, and it did me no good
So, exhausted, I fell fast awake

The last time I saw him in dreamtime
He was jumping around on the tip of my thumb
So diminished in size I was squinting my eyes
He might be a flea or a crumb
So I spoke to attract his attention
But I couldn't remember what I had to say
Then a flick of my finger forced him to take wing
I smiled and I waved as he bumbled away
I smiled as he bumbled away

That was the last time I saw him in dreamtime
He wasn't there for his own hopeless sake
I did what I could, but it did me no good
So I stretched out and sang myself awake (My, oh my)

Have you ever been touched so deeply that you'll never be the same
And all you know is how it feels to be there
Have you climbed a hill so steep you can't remember how you came
And all you know is how you need to be there

The dream will draw you further in, further on
The dream will call you to awaken
The dream will draw you further in, further on
To see the future in its making

The mystery is waiting to unravel
So find the road you know you need to travel
The vision is the drive, so keep the dream alive
Cherish and doubt it, but perish without it

Have you ever been led so slowly that you don't know where you'll be
And all you know is that you need to be there
Have you watched a river flow and wondered how far is the sea
And longed to know just how it feels to be there

The dream will draw you further in, further on
The dream will call you to awaken
The dream will draw you further in, further on
To see the future in its making

The mystery is waiting to unravel
So find the road you know you need to travel
The vision is the drive, so keep the dream alive
Cherish and doubt it, but perish without it

The dream will draw you further in, further on
The dream will call you to awaken
The dream will draw you further in, further on
To see the future in its making

The dream will draw you further in, further on
Further on, further on, further on

The children in the classroom
Are learning ABC's from the computer
Such a perfect teacher
Will tell them what to think and what to do

Garron and his girlfriend
Are leaving on a shuttle up to Luna
There they'll sign a contract
And stay on for a quiet honeymoon

A lot has changed
But our need for love remains
Grandmama remembers the good old days
Grandmama remembers

The dancers in the nightclub
Move through the holovideo recording
Some will leave here lucky
Others will go home alone and bored

A lot has changed
But our need for love remains
Grandmama remembers the good old days
Grandmama remembers

Funny animals
How did we evolve
What grandmama remembers, may we never forget
What grandmama remembers

A new religious leader
Is advertising on the local media
A blend of god and science
And all the open love you'll ever need

A lot has changed
But our need for love remains
Grandmama remembers the good old days
Grandmama remembers
